The Shirehampton Amateur Radio Club has several members who were dedicated fans of Acorn Computers. The club itself had an operational packet station using an old Acorn BBC b computer (yes, 8 bit technology !) although we have now succumbed to using a PC. Club members themselves were using just about every 32 bit Acorn model from an A305 to a RiscPC/StrongARM.
Curiously, Wintel machines do not inspire the same enthusiasm so no hardware has been built and little software has been written for PCs.
A tnc expansion card kit was produced but is no longer available, unless someone has a forgotten one in an attic.
Club members wrote a lot of Acorn software but much is hardly memorable ! However, some is useful enough to be made more widely available. Do note that this software is useful only on an Acorn Computer.
